The Materials

We used soft organic 100% cotton for sturdiness and longevity. Processed without chemicals, its fibers are stronger than regular cotton, so it retains more durability over time.

The Design

Motivated by movement, cotton dhurries are classic Indian flatwoven rugs, designed to be lightweight and portable. Stripes are a classic dhurrie motif, and ours are no exception.

The Weaving House

Our partner is a family-run business who uses organic materials whenever possible. They refined these rugs’ construction many times to achieve maximum flexibility in the washing machine.

Sure does. Here’s why.

VS
Regular cotton accounts for over 25% of pesticide use in global farming.

Work Safety

Handpicking organic cotton is safe for workers.
VS
Handpicking regular cotton can be harmful to workers due to chemicals like formaldehyde.

Water Usage

VS
A t-shirt made from regular cotton uses 2,168 gallons of water - that’s 1,065% more.

Carbon Dioxide

Organic cotton emits 46% less C02 than regular cotton.
VS
Regular cotton production releases 220 million metric tons (MT) of C02 per year.
