    221. Seeking His Wisdom: You Don't Have to Have All the Answers in Motherhood

    221. Seeking His Wisdom: You Don't Have to Have All the Answers in Motherhood

Welcome back to the kitchen table as Bethany welcomes listeners into a series of understanding motherhood through the eyes of God. Motherhood is a journey where we often find ourselves questioning if we have the answers for the season we're in which many mothers find themselves entangled in a web of doubt and uncertainty.

Bethany reminds listeners of the words found in Jeremiah 33:3: "Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.”

This verse serves as a gentle reminder that we're not expected to have all the answers. We're not meant to navigate the complexities of motherhood alone. Instead, we're encouraged to lean on God, to seek guidance, and to trust in his wisdom.

We're reminded to turn to the one who knows all things, who sees the bigger picture, and who offers guidance and reassurance in times of need.

    220. Embracing Grace in Parenting: You’re More Than Your Child’s Actions

    220. Embracing Grace in Parenting: You’re More Than Your Child’s Actions

Welcome back to the kitchen table as Bethany welcomes listeners into a series of understanding motherhood through the eyes of God. It’s easy to fall into the trap of believing that our children's behavior reflects solely on our abilities as mothers. We must separate the performance of our children from our worth as mothers.
As mothers, we've been chosen for our children, entrusted with the incredible responsibility of guiding them through life. Every challenge, every misstep, is an opportunity for growth and connection—not a reflection of our inadequacy.
In those moments of frustration and doubt, when we feel inadequate and overwhelmed, remember that God leans in, inviting us to meet Him there. He sees our struggles and our triumphs, and He longs to walk alongside us, offering comfort, strength, and wisdom.
Instead of allowing the enemy to rob us of our confidence, let us lean into God’s grace, knowing that He equips us for every season of motherhood.

    219. Letting God Declare Your Identity, Not Your Circumstances

    219. Letting God Declare Your Identity, Not Your Circumstances

Welcome back to the kitchen table as Bethany welcomes listeners into a series of understanding motherhood through the eyes of God. In the thick of motherhood, amidst the chaos of diaper changes and sleepless nights, it's easy to lose sight of who we are. We often find ourselves questioning our identity, wondering if we measure up to some unattainable standard.

But the truth is, we aren't the flaw. God has declared us as part of His plan, fearfully and wonderfully made to fulfill a purpose greater than ourselves. Jesus declares our identity.

Ephesians 3:7 reminds us that God offers grace with all His power. As we step into our circumstances, we do so knowing that His grace is more than sufficient for whatever we may face. It's a grace that sustains us, strengthens us, and enables us to embrace motherhood with joy and purpose.

    218. Motherhood According to God's Design: When Our Feelings are Hurt in Motherhood

    218. Motherhood According to God's Design: When Our Feelings are Hurt in Motherhood

Welcome back to the kitchen table as Bethany welcomes listeners into a series of understanding motherhood through the eyes of God. There are moments in motherhood when our hearts ache, when the weight of our responsibilities feels overwhelming. In those moments, it's essential to remember that we are not alone on this journey.

In the moments when our feelings are hurt, when we feel overwhelmed by the weight of our responsibilities, we are reminded of the comforting presence of Jesus in our motherhood journey. Just as our children run to us for comfort, we are encouraged to run to Jesus with our burdens.

He invites us to bring all that we are—all our joys, sorrows, fears, and hopes—and lay them at his feet.

    217. Motherhood According to God's Design: God's Plan Through You

    217. Motherhood According to God's Design: God's Plan Through You

Welcome back to the kitchen table as Bethany welcomes listeners into a series of understanding motherhood through the eyes of God. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed, inadequate, and like we're constantly falling short in our motherhood. We see ourselves as flawed, broken pieces, trying desperately to hold it all together.
But amidst the chaos and self-doubt, Bethany's gentle reminder echoes in our minds: "God works through you." It challenges the notion that everything depends solely on us, that we must bear the weight of the world on our shoulders.
Instead, it invites us to consider that there is a presence working within us, guiding our actions and shaping our lives in ways beyond our comprehension.
Let us remember that we are not alone, that He walks alongside us every step of the way.

    216. Motherhood According to God's Design: God's Plan With You

    216. Motherhood According to God's Design: God's Plan With You

Welcome back to the kitchen table as Bethany welcomes listeners into a series of understanding motherhood through the eyes of God. Motherhood is a role that shapes us, challenges us, and fills us with love beyond measure.
But, there’s a pressure that stems from the responsibility, the fear of failure, and the constant comparison with societal standards. In the midst of it all, we may find ourselves questioning, "Am I enough? Am I doing this right? Am I the flaw in this plan?"
Bethany brings listeners into 2 Corinthians 5, where we're called to be ambassadors for Christ, to embody His love and grace in everything we do. As mothers, we are not just caregivers or nurturers; we are ambassadors entrusted with the sacred task.
God is committed to working with us, teaching us, and entrusting us with His purpose. He sees the struggles, the doubts, and the fears, yet He continues to walk alongside us, guiding us every step of the way. God is with us, leading us, and shaping us into the mothers He has called us to be.

Washing with the Word

I can’t say enough about how Bethany’s podcast is a blessing. We share a mutual friend who led me to the podcast. I feel like I’m “washed with the water of the Word” when I listen. I’ve shared this podcast with many moms, but also a single dad, my own husband, and a single friend who cares for her bed-bound father- each of these expressing that they were encouraged in the Truth. I’ve even emailed requesting prayer and direction and Bethany was kind enough to reply. So thankful for a voice for truth that helps center my anxious soul. ❤️
